Rangrez
means
the dyer.
We are a print house from Surat that started selling what it printed. Everything we make still starts on our own tables.
The word rangrez comes from the dyers who worked the riverbanks of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Our family ran a dye and print house on Surat's Ring Road for two generations, printing for bigger labels. In 2008 we put a counter at the front and started selling the cloth ourselves. Customers asked for the kurta already stitched, so we stitched it.

Drawing
Six designers in our Surat studio draw about 25 new prints a week, by hand first, then cleaned up for separation. Most start from an old block or a border we found in a market.

Screens and blocks
Each colour gets its own screen. Small runs and borders still go to block carvers we have worked with since 2009. A six colour print needs six screens and about two days.

The print table
Our tables in Sachin are 60 metres long. Printers walk the screen down the cloth by hand for short runs; long runs go on the rotary. We print about 18,000 metres a day in season.

Wash, cut, stitch
Cloth is steamed to fix the dye, washed twice and checked in daylight. Then it is cut and stitched in three units within 20 km of the print house, and packed for 40 stores.

Our own print unit in Sachin GIDC, with four hand tables and one rotary machine.
- 2015
First store outside Surat, on CG Road in Ahmedabad. Ready to wear kurta sets join the fabric.
- 2019
The website goes live, with cash on delivery from day one.
- 2022
Menswear: printed shirts and plain kurtas, cut in our own unit.
- 2026
Forty stores in twenty cities. Still printing every design in Surat.

- Free above ₹999, otherwise ₹79. Dispatch in 1 to 3 days from Surat, delivery in 2 to 6 working days across India.
- Cash on delivery
- On orders up to ₹10,000, with a ₹49 handling fee. Pay the courier in cash or by UPI.
- Returns
- 7 days from delivery. We pick up from your door, or drop it at any of our 40 stores. Refund to source in 5 working days, or instant store credit.
- Exchanges
- Size exchanges are free and ship the day your return is picked up.
- Fabric
- Cut fabric is not returnable unless it arrives damaged or short. We send a photo of your piece before it ships.
